The Leylines team reviewing a survey programme

01About us

We measure wherethe work is hardest.

Over a decade defining the boundaries, levels and records that western Tanzania builds on.

02Our practice

Careful work,plainly said.

Land surveying is a profession where a small error compounds quietly. A beacon placed half a metre out is invisible on the day and expensive a decade later, when a wall goes up or a title is challenged.

Leylines operates from Mpanda Plaza Building, 4th Floor in Mpanda, serving landowners, developers, institutions and contractors across Katavi Region and the wider western regions of Tanzania.

We are equally comfortable with a single residential plot and a multi-kilometre road corridor. What does not change is the method: control first, independent checks throughout, and a complete archive at the end.

03What we hold to

Fourcommitments.

Not slogans — these are the rules we actually run the office by.

01

Closure, not approximation

Every survey is independently checked and must close within tolerance before it leaves the office. There is no 'near enough' in cadastral work.

02

Plain answers

You will be told what is possible, what it costs and how long approval realistically takes — including when the answer is inconvenient.

03

Records that outlive us

Field notes, computations and coordinates are archived so that any surveyor can pick up the file in twenty years and follow the reasoning.

04

Local ground truth

We work in Katavi and the western regions. We know the terrain, the district offices and the seasons that decide when a site is reachable.

04Method

How a jobactually runs.

Four steps, in this order, without exception.

01

Brief & site recon

We walk the ground with you, confirm the extent, check existing records at the registry and tell you plainly what the job needs.

02

Control & field capture

Control is observed and adjusted first. Only then does detail capture begin — GNSS, total station or UAV depending on the terrain.

03

Computation & drafting

Observations are reduced, checked against independent closures and drafted into the plan set your approval pathway requires.

04

Checking & lodgement

A second surveyor checks every plan before it leaves the office. We then lodge it and follow it through the approval queue.
